When should I start planning my outfit?

Two to three months before your event is ideal. It gives you time to choose without rushing and enjoy your fittings. Closer to the day? Just message us – we’ll happily check what’s possible.

What should I tell you in my first message?

Just say hello and ask whatever you’d like to know. Your date or a photo of a design you like can help – but none of it is needed to start. Coming from overseas? Message us anytime – we’ll walk you through everything and plan your fittings around your travel.

Do I need to know what I want before I visit?

Not at all. We’ll show you the collections and explain the rental and purchase options. If you like, bring a photo of your partner’s outfit or your colour theme – it helps us suggest a look that matches beautifully.

How much does an outfit cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the collection, design and whether you choose Made-to-Purchase, First-Fitting Rental, Standard Rental or a ready-to-wear Tuxberry suit. Send us a photo of the outfit you like, or visit us, and we’ll give you a clear price range. You’ll know exactly what’s included before you reserve – and do ask about our full-payment discount on the groom’s outfit.

What outfits do you offer?

Three collections, each made with the same care:

Aarya Sinhala – our signature Sri Lankan groomwear, designed by our team in classic and modern styles.

Indian – Jodhpuris, sherwani-style festive kurtas and shawls, along with embroidered kurta shoes to complete the look.

Western – suits and tuxedos, made to your measurements or ready-to-wear from our Tuxberry label, designed in Sri Lanka and crafted in Turkey.

What makes our Aarya Sinhala suits different?

Aarya Sinhala is our own take on Sri Lankan men’s wedding wear, designed by our team in classic and modern styles.

We’re constantly experimenting with our own embroidery styles and colour themes, so there’s always something new to see. Any gold work is fine and carefully placed, never heavy.

I’ve never worn a sarong. Will it be difficult?

Not at all – many of our grooms wear a sarong for the first time on their wedding day. Our sarong is made to wear like trousers, with a trouser-style waistband, a zipper and clips, so it’s secure and easy to put on.

It’s comfortable to wear all day, so you can move and sit with ease. At your fitting, we’ll show you exactly how to wear it, so you’ll feel completely confident on the day.

What Indian outfits do you offer?

Our Indian collection usually includes Jodhpuris, sherwani-style festive kurtas and shawls, along with embroidered kurta shoes to complete the look.

Visit us or share the look you have in mind, and we’ll show you designs that suit it, with rental and purchase options.

What Western outfits do you offer?

Suits and tuxedos, in several ways:

Tuxberry – our ready-to-wear double-breasted suits, to buy (with a limited selection to rent)
Standard Rental – choose from our existing suit collection
Made for you – a new suit made to your measurements, through First-Fitting Rental or Made-to-Purchase

What is Tuxberry?

Tuxberry is our own collection of ready-to-wear double-breasted suits – designed in Sri Lanka, crafted in Turkey, and available in different colours. Because the suits are ready-made, you can try them on in the showroom, and we’ll adjust your chosen suit to fit you. Tuxberry suits are available to buy at our Thalahena and Mount Lavinia showrooms, and we also have a limited selection to rent.

Can I wear different collections for different events?

Of course. Many grooms wear Aarya Sinhala for the wedding and a Western suit for the homecoming – or mix the collections another way. Share all your dates and we’ll plan the outfits and fittings together, in one go.

Where can I see your designs?

Our Instagram shows a selection of our work, but there’s much more in our showrooms – visit to see the full collection and the fabric, colour and detailing for real. Spotted something you love? Message us and we’ll check it’s available for your date.

Do you offer bridal wear or sell fabric separately?

We focus only on men’s wedding wear, so we don’t make bridal outfits or sell fabric separately. But do bring a photo of your partner’s outfit – we’ll help you choose a look that complements it perfectly.

Made-to-Purchase: a new outfit made to your measurements, yours to keep.
First-Fitting Rental: a new outfit made to your measurements – you’re the first to wear it, and you return it after the event.
Standard Rental: choose from our ready rental collection by trying outfits on at the showroom.
Ready-to-wear (Western): our Tuxberry suits, to buy or rent, adjusted to fit you.

Should I buy or rent?

There’s no wrong choice – it’s about what suits you. Made-to-Purchase is lovely if you’d like to keep your outfit as a keepsake of your wedding day. First-Fitting Rental gives you a newly made outfit without buying it. Standard Rental is ideal if you find a ready outfit you love that fits well. We’ll help you compare them against your budget, design and timeline.

What does “First-Fitting Rental” mean?

We make a new outfit to your measurements in your chosen fabric and design. You’re the first person to wear it, and you simply return it after your event. It usually includes two fittings, so it fits just right. You can also reserve it from overseas, with measurements taken by video call when needed – see our overseas guide.

How does Standard Rental work?

Accepted Answer

Visit the showroom and try on outfits from our rental collection. Every outfit fits a little differently, so trying them on is the easiest way to find yours. Once you find one you love that’s free on your date, reserve it – ideally two to three months before your event.

Question 19

Can I reserve a Standard Rental outfit without trying it on?

Accepted Answer

Standard Rental outfits are chosen by trying them on, so you know it fits before you reserve. If you can’t visit until close to your wedding, First-Fitting Rental or Made-to-Purchase let you book from overseas and secure your slot in advance – see our overseas guide, or ask us and we’ll happily explain both.

Are rentals charged per day?

No – one simple price per event, not per day. Wearing the same outfit for your wedding and homecoming? Share both dates before booking and we’ll confirm the price, collection and return for both.

Question 21

How do I reserve my outfit?

Accepted Answer

Once we’ve agreed your option and date, a 50% advance confirms your booking. For Standard Rental, you’ll choose your outfit by trying it on first. For a newly made outfit, the advance secures your workshop slot. Prefer to pay in full? Ask about our full-payment discount on the groom’s outfit.

Do I need to finalise the design before reserving?

Not everything at once. For a newly made outfit, we’ll tell you which details can be decided after booking and when – only the fabric and design need to be agreed before we start making it. For Standard Rental, you simply choose your outfit at the try-on.

When do I pay the balance?

Accepted Answer

If you reserve with a 50% advance, the balance is paid at your first fitting. If you pay in full at booking, there’s nothing more to pay later.

We accept cash, card and bank transfer.

What if my wedding date changes?

Accepted Answer

Just let us know as soon as you can. We’ll check our schedule and help you find the best way forward. Please contact us rather than assuming the booking moves automatically, so we can confirm everything for your new date.

What if I need to cancel?

Accepted Answer

Contact the showroom handling your booking as soon as possible, with your invoice or order number. We don’t offer cash refunds, but your payment isn’t lost – it’s converted to store credit, which you can use towards another order or a different item.

Do I need an appointment for a fitting?

Yes, but you don’t need to arrange it yourself – we’ll call you to arrange a date that suits you. If your plans change, just let us know and we’ll find another time. Just browsing? No appointment needed.

What should I bring to my fitting?

Just the shoes you plan to wear, so we can get the trouser or sarong length exactly right. If you’re bringing your own shirt or other pieces, bring those too. If we’re arranging your shoes, just mention it when we call.

What happens at a fitting?

Accepted Answer

You try on your outfit while we check how it sits, the length and how comfortable it feels when you move. We note any adjustments, and at your second fitting we check them and fine-tune the fit. We’ll also show you how to wear everything together.

Why do fittings matter so much?

Accepted Answer

Measurements are the starting point, but posture, shape and the way you move all affect how an outfit sits. Fittings let us perfect those details, so you look and feel your best on the day. That’s why every outfit includes in-person fittings – whether it’s newly made or a rental.

What if my weight changes before the wedding?

It happens – just let us know early, especially after your fitting. We’ll see what adjustments we can make and how much time they need.

Does everyone need to come for fittings together?

Accepted Answer

No – everyone can come at a time that suits them. If you’d like to come together, just tell us and we’ll arrange it. Each person simply completes the fittings for their own outfit.

When do I collect my outfit?

Usually one to two days before your event. We’ll arrange the exact pickup date with you. Need it a little earlier? Just let us know.

Will I need someone to dress me?

Accepted Answer

Most grooms dress themselves easily. Our Aarya Sinhala sarong has a trouser-style waistband, zipper and clips, and we’ll show you how to wear your outfit and arrange any shawl or accessories at your fitting.

How should I look after my outfit before the event?

Accepted Answer

Keep it hung in its garment bag, somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight. If you lay it down on a bed or chair, make sure nothing is placed on top of it, so it isn’t crushed by accident. And put on perfume before dressing rather than spraying it on the fabric.

When do I return a rental outfit?

Usually within three to four days after your event – no need to rush back. Just remember we’re closed on Mondays and Poya days, so plan your return for another day. Please return all the pieces together, and if you need the outfit a little longer, just tell us in advance.

What if a rental outfit is damaged or returned late?

Accepted Answer

Accidents happen – just contact the showroom as soon as you can. Please don’t try to repair or clean it yourself; we’ll take care of it. Please note that a charge applies for damage or late returns.

What are your opening hours?

9:30am to 7:30pm, closed on Mondays and Poya days. Walk in anytime to browse or place an order; fittings are by appointment. WhatsApp video calls can be arranged between 9:45am and 7:30pm Sri Lanka time on opening days.
